Emeritus Professor at University of Buckingham

John Bicheno is Emeritus Professor of Lean Enterprise at The University of Buckingham. He was Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering at Wits during the 1980’s. Later, for 16 years, he was Director of the Masters program in Lean Operations at Lean Enterprise Research Centre, Cardiff Business School. This was the first MSc in the world in Lean when established in 1998. Modules were held on-site at plant locations with students (from 14 countries) all being practicing managers. Later the program moved to The University of Buckingham.
John has written, or co-authored, 12 books in the area of Lean, Quality, and Service. The latest two are Human Lean (from which much of the material in this webinar is to be found), and The Lean Toolbox (now in its Sixth edition with 130,000 copies sold in the various editions and translations).

John was proud to be awarded the Kris Adendorff Award from SAIIE in 2021.
