Wim Van Schalkwyk

Wim is the Growth, Eminence & Innovation Lead: Management & Sustainability at Zutari. With a rich background in diverse environments and roles, he flourishes in the grey, ambiguous spaces between black and white. Equally comfortable in the boardroom or the shop floor, a spreadsheet or a blank canvas; Wim is a creative solutionist with a bias towards action and scaled impact.

Wim cares deeply about human-centered, innovative, and collaborative ways of working. In 2021, he received the Facilitation Impact Award from the International Association of Facilitators, due to his leading role in co-designing a new housing policy in a highly complex stakeholder environment in the South African mining industry.

He has a rich background in diverse environments and roles, always ready for a new challenge. His career started as industrial engineer at Sasol, followed by him founding and running two successful start-up companies. He subsequently worked in international development with organisations like World Bank, AFDB, NEPAD, COMESA, EAC, SADC, DFID, JICA and GIZ. After joining Zutari in 2014, he played multiple roles in areas like infrastructure advisory, strategy development, innovation, marketing and communication.
