Honorary Fellow (Hon. FSAIIE)
By invitation
Fellow (FSAIIE)
A person who has been an Ordinary Member (OMSAIIE) for a minimum of seven years and held the position of professional responsibility in IE
Ordinary Member (OMSAIIE)
An ECSA registered engineering person and/or a person with at least seven years of combined tertiary and practical IE experience
Associate Member (AMSAIIE)
A Candidate Engineer/ Technologist/ Technician working towards registration as well as practical experience; and/ or
A person who expresses a professional interest in IE and is desirous of subscribing to the objectives of the Institute
Retired Member (Retain designation at point of retirement)
A person shall be at the age of retirement, typically 65 years old
Student Member (StMSAIIE)
A person pursuing a course at a recognised tertiary education institution. Must be less than 30 years of age.

Prestige
An ECSA registered engineering person (excluding persons registered as Candidates). All SAIIE membership benefits including the right to vote upon all matters affecting the policy of the Institute.
A person with at least seven years of combined tertiary and practical IE experience. All SAIIE membership benefits including the right to vote upon all matters affecting the policy of the Institute.
A Candidate Engineer/ Technologist/ Technician working towards registration as well as practical experience;
and/ or A person who expresses a professional interest in IE and is desirous of subscribing to the objectives of the Institute. Qualify for all SAIIE membership benefits as stipulated in "General Information".
A person pursuing a full-time course at a recognised tertiary education institution (Proof of registration as a full-time student for the specific academic year must be provided with the application for membership. Proof of registration must confirm that you are a full-time student and not a part-time student) Not employed. It is recommended to register as a Student member with your personal email address and not your student email address.
