Grant Christie
  • Grant Christie (Director of Itchyfeet SA)

    Grant Christie

    Director of Itchyfeet SA

Grant will be a Keynote Speaker at the Gala dinner. He is a man with a (possibly unhealthy) obsession with walking. He is that friend who always says, “We don’t need an uber, we can just walk.” In fact, his escape plan from his civil engineering career was to walk the entire coastline of South Africa. Grant has always been an avid sportsman and a nature enthusiast, but it was this eight month, 3 500 km expedition that served as his springboard into the outdoor world. After his coastal expedition Grant worked at an adventure centre for a year before moving into the freelance space. He has led school expeditions and corporate challenges around the globe. Locally Grant guides mountain and nature trips and facilitates school Journeys. Most recently Grant completed a 500km fundraising walk around the Greater Kruger and Panorama route during the 2020 lockdown. This year Grant has joined local guiding and tour operator Itchyfeet SA as a co-director. When Grant is not walking or planning walks he takes photographs, writes the odd feature article, chases birds, stares at stars, and strums his guitar.
